Onward Christian Soldiers is a strategic area-movement game of the first three Crusades (each one is a separate scenario). I consider it to be a very well done game that presents the main realities of medieval combat in a reasonably abstract package.

Many of its basic systems come from Berg's Ancient World series, but they are a bit more streamlined here.
